Samsung ha iniziato il rilascio di un aggiornamento minore per il Galaxy Note, quello che in gergo tecnico si definisce “maintenance update”, che, oltre alla correzione di alcuni bug, regala al dispositivo alcune novità tese a facilitarne l’utilizzo con una mano sola, cosa non proprio facile con 5,3 pollici di display. Le principali novità sono concentrate sulla tastiera di serie che riceve una quinta fila di tasti per portare i numeri in prima funzione ed un tweak che permette di far “restringere” in senso verticale e scorrere la tastiera a destra o sinistra per raggiungere più facilmente le lettere più lontane rispetto alla mano con la quale si premono i tasti. Anche la schermata di sblocco presenta una novità con una modalità che rende lo slide di unlock più breve e preciso grazie all’animazione che mostra la direzione da far seguire al lucchetto. Aggiunto un nuovo widget torcia, una nuova modalità di regolazione della luminosità dello schermo specifica per il browser e corretti alcuni bug minori come la modalità di visualizzazione della data per gli utenti coreani, per esempio. L’aggiornamento “pesa” solo 70 Mb ed è disponibile via OTA. Io non ho ancora ricevuto nulla sul mio Note ma è probabile che dipenda dal fatto che non utilizzo la ROM stock; e voi, cari utenti possessori del “Teletubby”, come lo ha definito il nostro moderatore del Forum Tanoxxx?
Samsung Galaxy Note gets a “light” OTA update
Samsung has begun the release of a minor update for its Galaxy Note, what in technical jargon is called “maintenance update”, which, in addition to bug fixes, gives to the device some new features to facilitate tone-hand use, thing not really easier with 5.3-inch display. The main new features are focused on the standard keyboard, which receives a fifth row of keys to bring the numbers in the first function and a tweak that allows to “shrink” vertically and to slide the keypad to the right or left to reach more easily the letters more distant from the hand with which keys are pressed. Unlock screen too has a new release in a way that makes the unlock slide as quickly and accurately thanks to the animation that shows the direction to be followed to the lock. Added a new widget torch, a new method of browser-specific brightness of the screen adjusting and fixed some minor bugs such how is displayed the date for Korean users, for example. The update “weighs” only 70 MB and is available via OTA. I have not received anything on my Note, but it depends, maybe, for the fact that i don’t use stock ROM; and you, dear user owner of the “Teletubby”, as defined by our forum moderator Tanoxxx?
