Da noi i flip-phone (quelli con due parti separate incernierate in mezzo) non hanno mai riscosso lo stesso successo che hanno avuto in paesi come il Giappone, per fare un esempio, ma questo nuovo Samsung SCH-W999 potrebbe riuscire dove hanno fallito i predecessori, ammesso e non concesso che arrivi anche dalle nostre parti. Certo, le dimensioni non sono il suo punto di forza, ma le altre caratteristiche ne fanno un dispositivo di tutto rispetto. Processore dual-core Qualcomm MSM8660 da 1.2 GHz, doppio display da 3,5 pollici 800×480, Gingerbread 2.3, interfaccia TouchWiz, cover posteriore HyperSkin (come quella del Galaxy Nexus), fotocamera da 5 Mpx, Wi-Fi e Bluetooth3.0; ma le caratteristiche che rendono molto interessante questo flip phone sono la presenza del doppio modulo radio CDMA/GSM e la doppia Sim (feature tipica dei prodotti destinati al mercato cinese). La presentazione potrebbe essere fatta al prossimo CES di Las Vegas ma nulla si sa riguardo il prezzo di vendita.
Samsung SCH-W999, Android doubles itself
Flip-phones (those with two separate parts hinged in the middle) have never enjoyed to us the same success they have had in countries such as Japan, for example, but this new Samsung SCH-W999 could succeed where its predecessor failed, admitted it will arrive in our area. Of course, size is not its strong point, but other features make this device very respectable. Qualcomm 1.2 GHz MSM8660 dual-core processor, double 3.5-inch 800×480 display, Gingerbread 2.3, TouchWiz interface, HyperSkin back cover (such as that of Galaxy Nexus), 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth3.0; but the characteristics that make it very interesting this flip phone is the presence of the dual radio module CDMA/GSM and dual Sim slot (typical features of products for the Chinese market). The presentation could be made at the next CES in Las Vegas, but nothing is known about the selling price.
